Tuxedo Kitchens

Happy Friday friends! Friday’s are extra special around here! Not only is it nearly the weekend, but we’re treating you to TWO posts! So don’t forget to come back this arvo for a gander.

Now, before I started reading the much-missed Young House Love, I had no idea what a “tuxedo kitchen” was and, to be honest, if someone had described it to me, I probably would have run away screaming! Now, however, they are possibly my favourite kind of kitchen (I go back and forth over all white or colour). So, for those of you who are still looking at this thinking I’ve grown two heads… a tuxedo kitchen is where the bottom cabinets are dark and the top cabinets (and usually the work surfaces) are white. Like a man’s tuxedo – black pants, white shirt. Get it? We on the same page now? Awesome!

Traditionally, the bottom cabinets are black – hence tuxedo….

Now, however, you can have COLOUR! And y’all know how much I love colour!

If you’re lusting after that green kitchen as much as I am, the colour is Benjamin Moore’s Jade Green (which Dulux should be able to match for you) and you can read the whole Style Me Pretty feature here.

Don’t forget to come back later to see the links we’ve been loving this week!

Love,
