October Bucket List
Happy October lovely! I know I’m a little late on hitting publish on this post, but I wanted to take my time with it to make sure that whilst it included all the things I love to do when October rolls around, I wasn’t overloading myself with stuff I felt I had to do.
To me, October will always mean crunchy leaves under foot, apple bobbing, all the Hallowe'en decorations, cold days and colder nights, radiators on and hot chocolate in mugs - and whilst most of those might not match the weather outside, doesn’t mean I can’t make my own October heaven at home. So here’s what’s on my Bucket List for the next month…
Buy: Order new prints for the living room gallery wall. I know that once I’ve got pictures and artwork up, this new place will be home and I’ve been slowly deciding what to buy over the last 3 months but I think I’m finally ready so now is the time to do it!
Watch: Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter and Hocus Pocus (on Hallowe’en). I don’t do scary/horror movies so it’ll be Hocus Pocus for me this Hallowe’en and I am 100% okay with that!
Create: some homemade Hallowe’en decor using items I already have and nature. Whilst I’m not on a spending ban (hello new wardrobe), I am going to try and use what I have and what’s around me instead of buying unnecessary amounts that I’ll have to then store (who knows where) for the following 10 months!
Make: Crumble with lactose-free custard (I can’t decide whether to do apple or something more adventurous), Chilli and Cinnamon Rolls (I plan on giving away most of them to my new neighbours!)
Clean: out my closet to begin making way for the clothes I want, love and make me feel happy.
Do: walk through the local parks and enjoy the leaves, visit the Museum to see the Life in Irons exhibition, enjoy a Bratwurst in celebration of Oktoberfest.
So that’s my October. No rushing from pillar to post, no going insanly overboard on decor I have nowhere to store - just a gentle, simple appreciation of the season as we slide ever closer to my favourite time of year. What plans do you have for this October? Let me know in the comments!
