Autumn Book List
There’s something about Autumn that just screams reading. The nights are drawing in, the temperatures dropping and there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book. For me, Autumn and September usually go hand-in-hand. My brain still works in September-August years rather than January-December like the rest of the world. But being here in Australia means Autumn starts in March instead. I’m not going to deny that still, even after 4 years, this is weird to me. I think it always will be. But that doesn’t mean I have to let go of those things that make Autumn special to me – the biggest of which is curling up with a mug of tea and a good book, especially books that start in September.
So, whether it’s Autumn where you are, or you just save this list until September, here’s my list of books to read during Autumn…
Harry Potter by J.K Rowling
His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman
The Light Between Oceans by M.L Steadman
Little Men by Louisa May Alcott
Twilight by Stephanie Meyers
My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan (released April 24 2018)
By The Book by Julia Sonneborn
Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld
The Last Enchantments by Charles Finch
St Clare’s & Malory Towers by Enid Blyton
I guess it’ll come as no surprise to any of you that almost all these books have a school setting but there’s something about that that just screams autumn to me – and always will!
What books do you read during Autumn? Are there ones that you read every year? I’m so looking forward to reading By The Book and My Oxford Year this year!
